PARIS -- Following on the heels of Prada and Dolce & Gabbana, Christian Dior SA announced it would extend its brand beyond traditional fashion items and sell mobile phones.  Priced at €3,500, the Dior phone will feature a miniature wireless extension, enabling convenient access in a small form.

Dior Chief Executive Sidney Toledano is quoted by the Wall Street Journal as targeting a minimum 10,000 unit sales per year, with an annual sales goal of €200 million.  Dolce & Gabbana and its partner, Motorola, sold that much of their co-branded Razr phone in 2007.

Dior's phone will be manufactured by France's ModeLabs Group SA.  (21 May 2008)
